The Project

Process Flow Limited were contracted to upgrade the existing treatment plant at Collingwood to include UV disinfection. This allows the Tasman District Council to have a 3-log credit treatment system under the Drinking Water Standards of New Zealand (DWSNZ)

The following was provided as part of the project:

  • New Duty/Standby UV Disinfection

  • New Chlorine contact tank and associated pipework

  • Upgraded water quality monitoring systems

Key Points

The UV disinfection system is housed in a concrete modular building and was constructed and commissioned in Process Flow’s yard in Nelson.

Due to the remote location of the site, the project was ideally suited to a modular plant, and this resulted in less than 20 construction days on site.
